Nea A. Simone

Nea A. Simone is the Founder & CEO of Bespoke Media Marketing, a strategic firm that helps film and television projects position intellectual property, reach multicultural audiences, and navigate global distribution markets. Simone is also a New York Times bestselling author and most recently wrote NOW PLAYING: From Script to Screen — Web3 Film Funding Playbook, Vol. 1.

Her work sits at the intersection of storytelling, ownership, and emerging media ecosystems. She previously founded Melanated Studios, recognized as the first blockchain technology services firm in the United States owned by a Black woman, focused on helping creators protect and monetize intellectual property using decentralized tools.

Barbara Chirinos

Artistic Director, Spelman College

Barbara Chirinos is a cultural producer, curator, and arts leader whose work spans film, theater, festivals, and multidisciplinary programming. She joined Spelman College as the inaugural Artistic Director of the Mary Schmidt Campbell Center for Innovation and the Arts and the LaTanya Richardson Jackson and Samuel L. Jackson Center for the Performing Arts.

Her career includes more than a decade as an independent film producer and VP of Operations for an independent production company, as well as executive leadership roles in major cultural institutions in Canada. She founded and curated Vancouver's longest-running Black History Month film series, produced and managed one of Canada's largest international music festivals, and has built groundbreaking programs that center cultural preservation, artistic innovation, and underrepresented voices.

Julie Dash

Director, Writer & Film Pioneer

Julie Dash is an acclaimed filmmaker, writer, and professor whose groundbreaking work has transformed American cinema. In 1992, she became the first African American woman to achieve a wide theatrical release for a feature film with Daughters of the Dust, a landmark work later selected for the National Film Registry and recognized among the greatest films of all time.

Her work explores racial justice, diasporic identity, migration, and the lives of Black women across film, television, and visual art. Her recent directing credits include Reasonable Doubt, Women of the Movement, Our Kind of People, and Queen Sugar. In 2022, she received the President Joseph R. Biden Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her enduring cultural impact.
